At the same time, I’m also adding a TS tape unit; this will come in useful in the next step. The sysgen is quite straightforward; almost all questions can be answered by just pressing enter to accept the default; it’s only where the disk and tape device questions come in that real choices need to be entered. And, support for Decnet will be included; but – and this is a bit confusing – not the support for the deuna; this is because the RSX deuna drivers conflict with the Decnet drivers.
\nAfter the sysgen is done, the new system with the drivers for the RP06 will be booted; then I’m using the bad and bru utilities to copy over the files from the original RD54.
\nThe simh setup is in a file called ‘run’, which contains the following statements:
\n

\nset cpu 11\/70
\nset cpu 2m
\nset lpt disable
\nset ptr disable
\nset ptp disable
\nset dz disable
\nset rk disable
\nset rl disable
\nset hk disable
\nset rx disable
\nset tq disable
\nset cr disable
\nset xq disable
\nset xu disable
\nset rq disable
\nset tm disable
\nset rp0 rp06
\natt rp0 rsx11m6.dsk
\nset rp1 disable
\nset rp2 disable
\nset rp3 disable
\nset rp4 disable
\nset rp5 disable
\nset rp6 disable
\nset rp7 disable
\nset ts disable
\n<\/code>
\nwhere the file ‘rsx11m6.dsk’ is the new RP06 image that will be created the first time that the emulator starts.
